Q: Why does this site exist?
A: We want to promote some of the cool things happening with Perl right now.
Q: Why is the site called 'Perl is Alive'?
A: It's based on the Brian Blessed line "Gordon's alive!" from Flash Gordon, after a fairly silly discussion in (a) #london.pm and (b) the Digital Craftsmen office. For maximum effect, try pronouncing it with the same kind of flair that he does ;)
